The Naked City of Cap d’Agde

Cap d'Agde

ONLY in France will you find inhabitants living naked in one city. Well, not exactly a city but an entire complex just like the set of The Truman Show in a seaside town where all guests are required to be naked wherever they go. As you well know, the seaside resorts in France are the summer havens of western Europeans like the British and the Germans when they don’t go to the tropics like Phuket or the Carribean. Because of this, Cap d’Agde was created to cater to all European nudists who want to visit France and spend their summer holidays there. Cap d’Agde is not your regular camp or beach.

Cap d’Agde boasts of apartment suites where you can rent for your entire duration here the whole summer long which may last two months or even more. Cap d’Agde management discourages anyone to go beyond its borders. As nudists, you cannot of course roam naked even just in the town of Agde where mainstream people tend to be more conservative (the French being devout Catholics). That’s why the management of Cap d’Agde has established its own shopping mall at the middle of the resort for guests to shop and dine totally naked. If you are really itchy to go out of the vast nudist complex, then you’ll need to pay 10 euros every time you come back. Of course, guests are required to bring their own towel (which are provided by the apartments or hotel they’re checking in) to place in their seats for hygienic purposes. It is therefore the reason of the management of Cap d’Agde resort for nudists to embrace the nudity lifestyle at every aspect of their lives every day while staying here. By the end of summer, your suntanned skin is something to boast to friends back home.

Cap d’Agde has a summer population of 300,000 people. At a given day, it can accommodate up to 60,000 people. The nudist beaches themselves total 14 kilometers long and these are the following: Plage de Rochelongue, La Plaguette, Plage de la Grand Conque, Plage du Mole, Plage de la Roquille and of course Plage Naturiste.

Let me see what else is in store for you at Cap d’Agde Village Naturiste. Inside the huge shopping mall full of nude boutique caterers, customers and window shoppers (yes, even the cleaning guy is nude), there are restaurants, bars, cafes, delicatessens, beauty salons, boutiques, a post office, Internet cafes, a bank, a gas station, a pharmacy and even its own clinic. There are even Brazilian wax salons where the one who’ll wax your body is entirely in the nude. Cap d’Agde is indeed a fantastic sight for nudists.

At night when the bars are in full swing is the only time and place where clothing is aloud – but definitely not shirts and shorts. BDSM clothing like anything with leather, lycra, straps and chains are encouraged. People drop their inhibitions and show off their pierced navels, tattooed abdomens, etc. So come now to Cap d’Agde and enjoy.
